# Segment Removal

If the company is already a **Trading Member** and wants to leave **Euronext segments of the Markets in which it has already been onboarded** , it is possible to do so through the **Segment Removal** section. This process is a simplified version of an Resignation request and ensures that the setup is complete from legal, technical, and operational perspectives.

**How does the Segment Removal process work?**

Each request goes through 3 different stages :

-   Initiation
-   Technical Configuration

Each stage starts when the previous one is completed.

For each one of these stages, the request goes through different statuses :

-   Not started
-   Ongoing
-   Pending Approval
-   Acknowledged
-   Pending Customer Review
-   Completed
-   Cancelled

You will be able to start and submit a request by:

## Initiation

Upon initiating the Segment Removal request, the Member is presented with the following screen, where all currently applicable Markets & Segments are displayed:

-   The segments are able to be configured:
-   -   By default, the Firm IDs are toggled off;
    -   By indicating whether the "Segment Removal" applies to a certain Firm ID by using "Switch On/Off" button next to the Firm ID;
    -   If a Firm ID is "switched on", then the Segments indicated in the Initiation appear available for selection by default for the Firm ID;
    -   -   It's up to the Member to review whether a Segment is to be applied to Firm ID in its Market;

In case all the segments available for a given Firm ID in the dropdown are selected to be removed and the Member attempts to press "Continue", the Member is not prevented from doing so, as the Company is still allowed to Trade on the Market, it simply does not allow the Firm IDs currently indicated as allowed to trade in any of Market's Segments

However, there is a control enforcing that it isn't possible to remove all the Segments of a market from all Firms available for a given Company, as that would equate to a Market Removal. Otherwise, a error message pop-up appears, stating "Not possible to remove all Segments of a Market for all Firms under a selected Company. To do so, please submit a "Market Resignation" request.

## Technical Deconfiguration

Upon completing all the steps, the user is able to move on to the Technical Deconfiguration section, which is presented as follows, essentially representing a summary of what the user has set up for the segment removal:
